David Coleman (1926) is a British tv presenter, best known for his broadcasts of sport programs. During his career his old age caused him to start mispronouncing names , using clichés and making senseless comments. This made him an easy target for satire.

In "Spitting Image" he was caricatured as a overenthusiastic and senile man who was often unaware of what was happening around him and misinterpreted the video footage that was shown to him.
