Ian Paisley (b. 1926) (died 2014) was an Irish politician and religious leader. He founded the Democratic Union Party and was notorious and controversial during the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s as Protestant preacher who often raged against Catholics, the Pope, homosexuals and any sort of reform in Northern Ireland that did not meet with his personal views.

Portrayal on "Spitting Image"Edit

Paisley was always dressed in a black soutane and a studded white dog-collar . His head was caricatured into a furious red face and a shouting mouth. In one sketch he tries to convince God to kill Gerry Adams. Another skit was a parody of the music video of "Dancing in the Street" with David Bowie and Mick Jagger, in which Paisley claims it's time for "shouting in the street".

Paisley also appears in the song Our God Is Bigger Than Your God, where he is seen at odds with an IRA Fighter, and half shouts, half sings the words "Our God is bigger than your God! And I think our God is usually right!" at his opposite.
