Idi Amin (1925-2003) was dictator of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. He is notorious for his brutal and cruel regime, which ranks him among the deadliest dictators of the 20th century. After he was deposed in 1979 he lived in exile.
His puppet was sometimes seen during the first season of "Spitting Image", but always in small roles, probably due to the fact that his role in international politics was already over since the end of the 1970s.
